EAGLE FORUM'S 28th ANNUAL
Constitution Day Celebration
“The US Constitution, Guardian of Liberty and the Many Ways it is now Under Attack”

SEPTEMBER 12, 2026 | 9 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.
Berger Center (Oakmont Village)
6633 Oakmont Dr., Santa Rosa, CA 95409

September 17, 2026 is the 239th birthday of the US Constitution. Our Founding Fathers, after 4 months of a long hot summer - starting in May 1787 - spent in Liberty Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, debating, arguing, discussing, writing and rewriting the Constitution, finally finished it and signed it on this day, September 17, 1787. It is an amazing constitution that has lasted longer than any other on the face of the earth and certainly deserves to be honored and praised - not only for establishing the foundation upon which this nation was established but also for the Bill of Rights which were added to it two years later, September 25, 1789, that were ratified by all the states on December 15, 1791. According to Public Law 108-447, Section 111, passed by the Federal Government back in 2004. "each educational institution that receives Federal Funds for a fiscal year shall hold an educational program on the US Constitution on Sept. 17th of such year for the students served by the educational institution." Let us hope that the schools throughout the nation remembered to honor this day and teach their students something about its history and how special the Constitution is.

SUMMARY of EVENTS Eagle Forum of California honored this day with a wonderful early birthday celebration held Saturday, September 12 at the Oakmont Community Berger Center, in Santa Rosa, CA from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. They co-hosted the event with the Oakmont Conservative Club.  The day started with an inspiring prayer given by Greg Fauss of the Oakmont Community Church.  This was followed by a flag ceremony created by Capt. Phil Graf. 1st VP of Eagle Forum, with all six of the flags representing branches of our military carried in by veterans to the theme music representing that branch of the military.  The army, navy, marines, airforce, coastguard, and even the new space force were represented. The Star Spangled Banner was sung by Leslie Brockman, afterwards we had the Pledge of Allegiance led by Capt. Phil.   Orlean Koehle, the CEO of Eagle Forum welcomed everyone and introduced the theme - The US Constitution, the Guardian of Justice, but the many ways that it is now under Attack.  She introduced Brad Dacus, our MC and first Speaker, who is the founder and president of the Pacific Justice Institute.  He spoke about the many examples that PJI.have personally dealt with where Christians' first amendment rights are under attack - "Freedom of Religion, Freedom of Speech, Press, Assembly," etc. But he also told us the many ways that PJI has been successfully able to help these people seek justice and get these rights back.   Betsy Braley, a mother of three from Petaluma, spoke briefly and told what she found out about the elementary school she was going to send her children to and why she chose instead to home school.  The  school was holding a club meeting during the lunch hour for all the children - even as young as kindergarten.  At first, they just had the children play games together, but then they start reading LGTBQ books to the children and books about children deciding they should have a different gender.  Most of the parents are clueless that this is going on, and if they find out, what can they do?  There are not opt outs possible for the lunch break.  Betsy also found out these "indoctrination clubs" are going on at many other schools.       Dr. Bill Evers, PhD, formerly of the Hoover Institute, now with the Independent Institute, was the perfect person to follow Betsey.  He told that because of all the "extra curricular" indoctrination our children are receiving in public schools, they do not know how to read or write or do math, nor do they know anything about American HIstory or the Constitution. He gave all the statistics to demonstrate the truth of what he was saying,  He also showed how many children have only negative things to say about America from what they have learned from their teachers.  He had a handout in the packets that everyone received of what parents can do to make a difference.  Tom DeWeese, the founder and President of the American Policy Center, spoke about the ways our property rights are under attack, plus spoke about the dangers of the Data Centers and AI.  He gave us hope by telling us that he has never seen such grassroot efforts mounting in such a short period of time among both left and right to fight against these enormous data centers.  After a delicious lunch, we had a raffle and auction of beautiful paintings - three by local artists that helped raise $1,000 for our young adult scholarship fund.   Our afternoon speakers were JennyLyn Olson, the Executive Director of Bridges, the Pregnancy Clinic and Medical Center in Santa Rosa.  She gave a talk on the attack on Life through Abortion and the use of the pill, but how Bridges is helping to protect the life of the unborn, and also how they can even still reverse the use of the pill if they can act in time.    Orlean Koehle spoke on the attack on Liberty, Justice, and Equal Protection Under the Law, as written in her latest book on the Waning Death of Lady Justice Due to Lawfare.  She gave examples of the lawfare shown to the almost 2,000 J6ers that were unjustly charged with insurrection on Jan. 6, when it was really antifa and even FBI agents themselves who were the guilty ones. She gave examples of what we need to do to stop any more lawfare from happening and help restore Lady Justice back to good health. The last speaker was Miguel Muniz, the Bay Area Field Representative for TPUSA for Club America, a very dynamic young 21- year old, who spoke about all the many "Club Americas" that are forming on high school Campuses, even more than the college chapters for TPUSA.   He was so full of enthusiasm and gave hope to the attendees that maybe America can have a brighter future with such a well-informed and dynamic youth setting the example.   The last ten minutes, all of the speakers were called up to take questions from the audience.  All of the speakers gave good answers, but Miguel gave a brilliant answer about how parents need to teach their children early in their lives about morality and having decent dress standards, especially to exemplify their Christian beliefs.    To say thank you, Orlean gave a bronze Eagle award to all of the speakers and one to the committee from the Oakmont Conservative Club who had been such willing and hard workers.   Capt Phil, who had been with Orlean on the board since Sonoma County Eagle Forum was started back in 1997, was given the "Tough Old Eagle Service Award."    Dr. Kurt Koehle, PhD, Orlean's husband, gave the closing prayer.   We also wish to thank all of our vendors who were so kind to come and support us:  Sonoma County GOP, Santa Rosa Republican Women Federated, California Pistol and Rifle Club, JBS and the New American, Books for Truth, Eagle Forum Young Adult Eagles.   Thanks to Jane Gyorgy, who was in charge of AV, a zoom recording of the days' event was made and is the video we have posted on this website.
